Barcelona midfielder Pedri says he hopes to give fans an early Christmas present by defeating Atletico Madrid on Saturday night.
The game is the team’s final encounter of 2024, and a victory would put the Catalans at the top of the Spanish league heading into the Christmas break.
However, Barcelona will need to improve after some disappointing recent performances, and Pedri believes it is time to get back on track.
“It’s a game to reverse what we’re doing in the league, we want to get out of the shock,” he shared with the press. Reported By Sky Sport.
“And what better way to do that than to play a good game in front of our fans against a strong opponent. “We want this Christmas gift for the people.”

Barcelona will be without Lamine Yamal for the encounter due to an injury, but Pedri believes the club will be able to survive without their youthful superstar.
“It’s tough, he gives us a lot,” he added.
“But we must focus on our squad; we cannot rely on anyone, and with what we have, we can defeat any opponent. “We must win the match.”
Hansi Flick’s team has struggled without Yamal in the starting lineup this season, but they have triumphed without their wonderkid and will seek to do so again on Saturday.
