Roy Keane has encouraged Marcus Rashford to transfer abroad in a deal that will benefit both the attacker and Manchester United.
Rashford, 27, revealed on Tuesday that he is ready for a fresh challenge after spending his whole football career with United. The England international made the announcement just days after Ruben Amorim left him out of the Red Devils’ squad for their 2-1 away win against Manchester City.
The United academy graduate has had a difficult few years, having fallen out of England contention and dealing with issues both on and off the pitch. Now he’s searching for a way out of the club, Keane believes a move overseas would be good for both Rashford and United, rather than considering a switch to a Premier League rival.
Speaking on The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, brought to you by Sky Bet, Keane said of Rashford’s interview with Henry Winter: “I don’t actually dislike what he said, albeit it’s a little long, but it’s spot on.

“Sometimes a deal simply works for everyone – it’s been going on for a year or two now, there’s clearly some skill there, and he’s been with the club since he was a kid. Going abroad would most likely benefit him, his team, and his family.”
Rashford had previously been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, where he is regarded as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe. According to reports, he is also under surveillance.
“If you lose that hunger, it’s hard to get it back. We know that for great players, it’s nothing to do with money – it’s about the next challenge, and your pride.
