Aston Villa, PSG ‘Negotiating’ Swap Deal Involving Duran And A French Star

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly negotiating a swap deal with Aston Villa for Jhon Duran with Randal Kolo Muani and significant cash sum going the other way.

PSG are believed to be keen on Duran as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of next season.

After starting the season with 12 goals and lately replacing England international Ollie Watkins in Unai Emery’s starting lineup, Villa’s Colombian gem, Duran has been drawing interest from all over the Premier League and Europe.

Despite only starting six games this season in all competitions, with half coming from substitute appearances, the 21-year-old has delivered the goods.

His most recent goal was Villa’s first goal in their 2-1 victory over defending champions Manchester City at the Villa Park on Saturday.

According to Fichajes as reported by Birmingham Live, French champions PSG may have contacted the Villans regarding a possible swap and substantial cash for the 21-year-old. Randal Kolo Muani, a French forward who arrived in Paris in the summer of 2023 but has had difficulty establishing himself, is said to be part of the deal.

Kolo Muani joined for an initial huge fee of €80 million after a remarkable season with German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt. But could only record nine goals and six assists in 40 games across his first season with the Parisians.

Duran, on the other hand, has performed admirably for Villa and was rewarded in October with a new long-term contract that will keep him at Villa Park through 2030.

However, interest has persisted, with PSG apparently interested in signing him after Napoli were recently linked to him.
