Ruben Amorim will have a clear understanding of which positions he wants to reinforce at Manchester United.
Amorim has been in Manchester for just over a month, but he is familiarizing himself with the players at his disposal and plans to speak with United’s board about potential future transfers.
It is unclear whether signings will be made during the January transfer window. Amorim does not have a war chest and will need to sell to balance any incomings, but United will strike in the winter window if the opportunity arises. According To Manchester Evening News.
United’s head coach has ushered in a new era at Old Trafford with a new structure, and wing-backs are critical to the system, therefore it appears that a new signing could be made at that position.
Wing-backs are two of Amorim’s most crucial positions, and the 39-year-old presently plays alongside Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, Tyrell Malacia, and Amad.

Amad is having a fantastic season and has made an impressive adjustment to right wing-back, although he has also played in one of the No.10 positions in recent games.
Amorim has experimented with Dalot and Mazraoui as wing-backs, but beginning with two natural full-backs in those positions hasn’t worked well because neither provide enough quality in offensive scenarios, and Dalot has struggled to play on the opposite side of his preference.
That means Amorim should prioritize finding a new left wing-back, and United will have the opportunity to re-sign Alvaro Fernandez during the January transfer window, which opens in a week.
Fernandez joined Benfica on loan with the prospect of a permanent move in the January transfer window, and the Portuguese club exercised their option to buy him in May.
