Manchester United have reportedly identified Brighton and Hove Albion winger, Kaoru Mitoma as a potential replacement for Marcus Rashford.
According to TEAMtalk as reported by TheHardTackle United are interested in Mitoma. Amid concern over Rashford’s long-term future, the Red Devils are exploring the market for a wide attacker in front of the two transfer windows that will take place next year. Thus, the 27-year-old winger for Brighton has become a target.
Mitoma joined the Seagulls from Union Saint-Gilloise almost two and a half years ago, and since then, he has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top wingers. The Asian attacker, who is from Kawasaki, was raised in Japan and has played the majority of his career there.

But over the past two and a half years, the 27-year-old’s status has skyrocketed during his time with Brighton, growing steadily. Mitoma has made almost 100 appearances with the Seagulls thus far, contributing 16 goals and 15 assists.
Meanwhile, a number of prominent clubs throughout Europe have taken notice of Mitoma’s development. Man United have had their eye on the Japanese international for a while.
It makes sense that the Red Devils would be interested in Mitoma. United are prepared to let go of Rashford as the January transfer window draws near, indicating that he has no future there.
Therefore, the Premier League giants need to find someone to take the England international’s place, and Mitoma seems like a good fit.
