According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur have identified Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite as a potential centre-back candidate for their January hunt.
Spurs are apparently interested in the 22-year-old England international, but a deal in the coming weeks remains tricky, given Everton’s desire of at least £80 million for Branthwaite’s departure mid-season.
The’superstar’ centre-back is regarded as one of Everton’s most essential players and is thought to be critical to the club’s Premier League survival chances this season.

Everton were hesitant to sell Branthwaite before the season, despite having repeated proposals from Manchester United that fell short of their valuation, with the final offer totaling £50 million.
Tottenham may have to go elsewhere to find a new central defender for Ange Postecoglou, who has been playing with a thin backline lately, with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven both out injured.
Tottenham are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Ko Itakura as a new central defender, after signing promising goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.
GIVEMESPORT reports that Spurs have not ruled out making a formal offer for the Japan international, who is in the final 18 months of his contract.
Postecoglou’s men are 12th in the Premier League table, having won just once in their last eight games, and will face Liverpool next in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
