Newcastle Star Set For Shock Move Following Arsenal Victory

Newcastle United goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka is reportedly set to leave just hours after helping the club defeat Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Newcastle have a significant lead heading into the second leg thanks to goals from Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.

At full time, Dubravka, who had been kept extremely busy during the game, was emotional as he took in the excitement and cheered the supporters. It has now been revealed that this is because it was his last game with the team.

The 35-year-old repelled 23 of the Gunners’ shots in 90 minutes of action. Despite having 70% of the ball, Arsenal were unable to get past the Slovakian shot-stopper.

Nick Pope is currently Howe’s first choice in goal after Dubravka dropped down the St. James’ Park hierarchy in the last two seasons.

The 35-year-old may be headed to the Saudi Pro League after reaching a verbal deal with Al Shabab, according to TalkSport as reported by National World.

Speaking after the game, manager Howe said: “We’ve been preparing for this game with Martin. He’s playing very well at the moment and of course, I wouldn’t want to lose him.”

Dubravka would join players like Yannick Carrasco, Daniel Podence, and Wesley Hoedt, who previously played for Southampton, at the Saudi team if a deal is reached.
