Liverpool are on the brink of securing a deal for Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.
The Napoli striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months with Jurgen Klopp said to be a big fan.
And according to BeIN Sports [via The Sun], a deal is close to being finalised.
Higuain netted 36 goals in 35 league appearances last term, breaking a 66- year goalscoring record for the most goals in a Serie A campaign.
Jose Mourinho has been keen to bring Higuain to Old Trafford as he looks to land a marquee signing, but reports last month claimed Higuain was keen to work under Klopp instead.
Higuain is under contract until 2018 but is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield.
The 28-year-old was in action for Argentina against Chile in last night’s Copa America match and Klopp was reportedly in the stands to watch the game.
