Paris-Saint Germain’s winger Hatem Ben Arfa has backed Paul Pogba to become a star at Manchester United should the player decide to move there this summer.
Pogba has been the subject of interest from clubs all around Europe this summer, with United reportedly making a world record bid for him.
Although any deal is a long way from completion, Ben Arfa has said his compatriot would succeed at Old Trafford.
“If Manchester United are investing so much into him, it’s because they know what they’re doing,” said the former Newcastle United and Hull man, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
“Of course, Paul will have a lot of responsibilities due to it, but I have faith in him.”
“I think he’ll be able to impose himself very quickly.”
Ben Arfa is confident Pogba could adapt to the pace of the Premier League very quickly, having already made three appearances during his first spell at the club.
The 23-year-old registered twelve assists in Italy’s top division last season, at least six more than any United player managed in the Premier League.
The transfer moved closer to completion as Juventus finalised the deal to bring Gonzalo Higuain to the club for a fee of around £75 million from Serie A rivals Napoli.
Manager Massimiliano Allegri is trying to build a team capable of winning the Champions League after five straight league victories. Pogba remains part of his plans, but his future is still cloudy.
