Ibrahimovic opens up on his first two days with the Manchester United squad

Manchester United superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic says his first couple of days training with his new teammates have been nothing but “positive”.

Following an extended break for his efforts with Sweden at the European Championships, the striker only reported for training on Thursday and is in line to make his first appearance in United colours in a pre-season friendly against Galatasaray on Saturday afternoon in his home country.

Ibrahimovic was asked by the club’s official website about how his first few days at Carrington and he responded by heaping praise on the squad and as well as manager Jose Mourinho.

“Positive vibes,” he revealed.

“They seem to be good guys, quality players, they train very hard and, during the training, are very focused.

“The coach – he is direct, he is concrete, he says what he wants and the players are adapting. So there are only positive things.”

The 34-year-old became the club’s second major signing of the summer as he joined on a free transfer after his contract at Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint- Germain expired at the end of last month.

He joins defender Eric Bailly and attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan as new arrivals at Old Trafford during the transfer window and all will be tasked with ensuring the club are competing at the very top of the Premier League next season.

Ibrahimovic is fresh off a brilliant year at club level for PSG during the 2015/16 campaign as he struck 38 goals in just 31 league appearances, and despite failing to net at the Euros, he remains one of the most potent strikers in European football.
