AC Milan Reach Agreement In Principle For Gimenez

AC Milan have reportedly reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with Santiago Gimenez, but the Italian club still have to negotiate and agree a deal with Feyenoord.

The Rossoneri have been trying to bolster Sergio Conceicao’s offensive options during the January transfer window, in addition to the anticipated signing of Kyle Walker from Manchester City.

Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, Joao Felix of Chelsea, and Borussia Dortmund’s Gio Reyna were all linked to Milan. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport as cited by Football Italia, Milan are now nearing an agreement with Feyenoord for Gimenez.

According to the Pink Paper, a financial arrangement has already been reached in principle with the striker; the club’s directors now need to obtain Feyenoord’s final permission.

According to reports, Gimenez makes less than €1 million a season in the Eredivisie. So, if he signs with Milan in January, his salary would grow significantly.

In the summer, the Rossoneri were additionally linked to a bid for the Mexico international, but they were unable to finalize a deal because Feyenoord reportedly demanded a fee of about €40 million.

The Eredivisie side are anticipated to want a comparable price to sell Gimenez in January since they want to hang onto him at least until the summer, but Milan are said to be still expecting to work out a deal.
