AC Milan Rekindle Interest In Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun

AC Milan are reportedly set to renew their interest in Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun following his breakout season while on loan in France.

The 21-year-old has progressed through Arsenal’s youth system, making 10 senior appearances and scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Balogun is currently on loan at Reims, where he has had a productive season, scoring 15 goals in 22 league appearances.

The Arsenal loanee leads the Ligue 1 scoring charts, having outscored Paris Saint-Germain trio Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi.

Balogun’s performances have helped his team go 15 games unbeaten in the league, and Reims manager Will Still was determined to make his loan move permanent in January.

Arsenal turned down the proposal, but the Gunners could become more interested in Balogun during the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, AC Milan will renew their pursuit of the England Under-21 international, who was previously linked with a move in 2021.

Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has only recently recovered from a long-term injury, are out of contract at the end of the season, and new contracts have yet to be agreed.

Milan also have Divock Origi on their books, having signed him on a free transfer from Liverpool last summer, but he has struggled to make an impact, scoring only two goals in 15 appearances.

Because of their current forwards situation, the Rossoneri are looking to strengthen in the final third, and Balogun appears to be a possible option.

Other clubs are said to be interested in Balogun, with Marseille and Villarreal among his admirers.

The forwards is under contract with Arsenal until June 2025, and the club are yet to decide whether to sell him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
