“The team feels at home. Garoua has become home away from home for us all. The Nigerian Community are always mobilized to turn up in their green and white outfit, and in large numbers too, on match days to support the Super Eagles.

“Driving through Garoua, you will get the feeling that you are in a Nigerian town. One of every three persons on the street is putting on a Nigerian jersey, the Nigerian flag is everywhere and this is really heartwarming and inspiring.”

The Eagles will play their final AFCON 2021 Group D game on Wednesday against Guinea Bissau in Garoua, already guaranteed to finish as group winners.
