Leeds Rhinos boss Richard Agar says he cannot wait for the double header that will open the 2020 Betfred Super League campaign. The 2020 fixture list was released on Tuesday, with newcomers Toronto Wolfpack kickstarting their campaign against Castleford Tigers at 2.30pm on February 2 at Emerald Headingley. Agar’s men will then entertain Hull FC in a 4.45pm kick-off at the same stadium, in what will be Super League’s first-ever double header. The RFL have also confirmed that each team will only play one game over the Easter weekend and Agar says he cannot wait to get started. “It’s a great way to start the season with a double header at Emerald Headingley,” Agar told the Rhinos official website. “With Toronto playing their first Super League game it will add to the occasion. Hull will be a great challenge for us. They have brought in some new players who will add power to their game. It will be a good opportunity to for our players to start the season in front of a home crowd and for the new players to experience what it is like to play at Emerald Headingley. “It’s exciting that we will be playing at different grounds this year. Our loop fixture against Catalans will see us play in another double header at the Stade Ernest-Wallon in Toulouse, which is another iconic sporting venue and that always adds to the experience for players and fans. We are also looking forward to travelling to Toronto in August for the first time.”
