Al-Ittihad Ready To Improve Bid To Liverpool For Salah

Saudi Arabian club, Al-Ittihad are reportedly willing to increase their offer to £120 million to Liverpool for Mohamed Salah.

The Saudi Pro League champions’ most recent offer is higher than the £118 million they reportedly made recently in an effort to persuade Liverpool to sell their Egyptian talisman.

In recent weeks, the Jeddah-based club have prioritized recruiting Salah over other players. Having previously acquired Fabinho from the Reds this summer.

The asserted sum would surpass the £77 million Al-Hilal spent on Neymar. And make the 31-year-old the club’s highest paid player ahead of Karim Benzema. He would also become the most expensive signing in the league’s history.

However, according to the Daily Mail, due to the transfer’s tardiness, Liverpool are prepared to reject any offer for their all-time highest Premier League goal scorer.

Although, Salah’s departure would not give the club management enough time to finalize a deal for a viable replacement. The Daily Star claimed the Reds have been inquiring elsewhere for potential attackers in the market.

Concerns over his potential departure are increased by the fact that the Saudi Arabian market is still open until September 7. And Premier League clubs are not permitted to make signings past Friday, September 1.

If the forward leaves, Liverpool’s campaign and Jurgen Klopp’s entire endeavor would be dealt a serious blow as they attempt to reclaim a top-four berth after missing out on Champions League football the previous season.

What Did Klopp Say About Salah’s Future?

In his pre-match press conference ahead of Aston Villa clash, Klopp remained categorical that he is not seeking to split ways with his star player.

He said: “Our position remains the same, no doubt about that. Nothing else to say. [No offer] as far as I know, but that doesn’t mean a lot.”
