Alan Shearer, a Newcastle United legend, has emphasized the importance of club support in the Marcus Rashford situation at Manchester United. Rashford has been absent from the squad for the last four matches and expressed a desire for a “new challenge” following his omission from the team that secured a 2-1 victory against Manchester City.
With little prospect of a return to action under manager Ruben Amorim, Newcastle United veteran Shearer underlined the importance of the club respecting their management’s decisions.
“They have to back Amorim,” the Betfair ambassador stated. “They’ve brought him in because it hasn’t been anywhere near good enough and he needs to sort that mess out.
“He has to be able to do what he wants, and the situation with Marcus Rashford will be resolved; whether it is resolved in January, I’m sure both parties will reach an agreement, but that’s part of the process of who he wants to leave the club and who he wants to bring in.”

“Clearly, it isn’t a good situation for the club if Marcus doesn’t want to be there and the manager doesn’t want him there. If that is the case, then it’s best for both parties that something sooner rather than later is sorted out – that’s easier said than done when you’re on a hefty contract,” adds the Mirror.
On December 17, Rashford addressed up about his future intentions, stating: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.
