If a deal is reached, United will be able to concentrate on making decisions on David de Gea and Marcus Rashford.
According to reports, United are unlikely to exercise a 12-month option in De Gea’s contract because they want to reduce his salary, which the Spaniard is reportedly prepared to do in order to stay at the club.
Meanwhile, Rashford, who is having the finest season of his career, has a contract until 2024 and will be offered the chance to sign new terms as a reward for his recent form.
