Alexander-Arnold Dig Reply To Maddison After Liverpool Mockery

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has dished out a subtle dig to Tottenham midfielder, James Maddison following his mocking remark towards Liverpool in their Premier League loss to Spurs.

Following an injury, Alexander-Arnold returned as a nine-man Liverpool fell to defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the dying embers.

Nevertheless, the VAR mistake that resulted in Luis Diaz’s goal being incorrectly disallowed for offside eventually eclipsed the hosts’ late winner.

According to The Mirror, after the blunder was discovered, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp suggested a replay, which prompted Maddison to make fun of his teammate while away on England duty.

Nevertheless, Alexander-Arnold retaliated fast, giving Maddison a taste of his own medicine.

Prior to England’s friendly match against Australia, Madison shared a picture of himself and Alexander-Arnold on social media. With the caption, “Still asking for a replay”.

What Did Alexander-Arnold Replied Maddison With?

However, the Liverpool player threw a jibe when Channel 4 questioned him about it. When questioned about the accuracy of Maddison’s caption, The 25-year-old remarked, “Nah, No, he was asking me to teach him how to put a free-kick in the top corner.

“But, I told him, I’d just shown him the video when I scored at Leicester last year and they got relegated.”

Two weeks after Leicester’s loss to Liverpool, Maddison was a member of the team that got relegated. He then joined Spurs following his former club’s relegation to the second division.

Both players will likely leave the taunts and get their focus back on the pitch as the Three Lions host Austrialia in a friendly match at the Wembley Stadium on Friday.

Then on Tuesday, Gareth Southgate’s men will lock horns with Italy in the Euros qualifying rounds. A win for England will get them the ticket to the 2024 European Championships in Germany.
