Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly not willing to leave the club and is set to stay for another season amid interest from Real Madrid.
Since making his first-team debut in 2016, the 25-year-old has won seven trophies with the Reds, including the Premier League and the Champions League.
With just one year remaining on his Liverpool contract, Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool are still unable to come to a new arrangement.
Madrid reportedly made an approach to sign the England international last week, according to sources indicating the Laliga giants have a “serious” interest in the player.
According to The Sun as echoed by The Metro, Alexander-Arnold is committed for the forthcoming season and has already discussed the new campaign with Liverpool boss Arne Slot.
According to the report, Liverpool intend to entice Alexander-Arnold with a “bumper” new contract in an effort to deter Madrid’s interest.
Trent’s spoken to the new manager already,’ a source told the newspaper.
‘This took place before the Euros and they’re in touch now.
‘They had a great conversation initially but the manager respected that he needed to focus on the tournament.

‘Trent, like the rest of the squad, sees this as a new beginning and a fresh start and he is excited to get back to training to lay the foundations for a successful, new season.
‘He is definitely committed for the season and a huge deal will be presented to him to stay beyond that.
