Alexander Isak Liverpool Message Sent As Eddie Howe Signals Newcastle’s Carabao Cup Final Intention

Eddie Howe declared Alexander Isak “very motivated” to score in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, despite the fact that he played only 45 minutes when the Magpies lost to Manchester United at Wembley two years ago.

Isak is Newcastle’s top scorer this season, with 19 goals, however he has been sidelined by injury in recent weeks due to muscular soreness. The Swede was unexpectedly absent from Howe’s team for Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last month.

However, he is scheduled to start for Newcastle against West Ham United on Monday evening, and if he survives that game, Howe claims he is anxious to damage Liverpool at Wembley.

Newcastle will be without important winger Anthony Gordon at Wembley after he was sent off against Brighton in the FA Cup.

Howe told Chronicle Live “He is tremendously motivated to score. That is one of his best qualities, as is Callum Wilson’s.

“They have a strong desire to score at all times, including during training.” Goalscorers have that mentality, and he has it, so maybe he will be able to take his spot on the field and do so.”

When asked if Isak would start against West Ham, Howe replied: “Fingers crossed, yeah.” As previously stated, if he is fit, he will play because it is the greatest approach to prepare him for future games.

“Football players are finely honed athletes, and when they’re ready, they must play. You must give them that opportunity.
