Alexander Isak Was ‘Targeted By A Family Of Burglars

Alexander Isak was targeted by a group of burglars who committed a series of high-value break-ins, Newcastle Crown Court heard.

Last April, the Swedish international’s Northumberland home was broken into, with police confirming that a vehicle was stolen from the property and later discovered abandoned in nearby Dissington.

Isak is believed to be the gang’s third victim, having previously stolen jewellery and clothing worth over £1 million from a local businessman, jurors were told.

Three members of the same family, all of whom live in Italy, admitted to a burglary conspiracy in court. However, a fourth defendant, Valentino Nikolov, 32, rejects the charge and is facing trial.

According to prosecutor Dan Cordey, the suspected gang came in the UK in March by boat from Calais to Dover in a Citroen C3 and a Ford campervan.

According to Mr Cordey, they left for London before traveling to the northeast of England a few days later.

Images of the break-in emerged days after the incident, after the striker had played for the Magpies in a win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. According to The Sun, the group targeted Isak’s residence around 10 p.m. the previous Thursday.

Officers reacted and a police aircraft was summoned, but the invaders had already fled the location.

According to the prosecution, the first burglary occurred on March 30 at Helen and Michael McCardle’s home in Newcastle, while the pair was on holiday.

The prosecution said that the gang stole her CBE medal, as well as clothes, jewellery, gold coins, and handbags worth more than £1 million.

The trio was also involved for a raid in Sunderland, where designer clothes, jewels, and cash worth more than £100,000 were seized, according to the prosecution.
