Alexis Sanchez has handed Arsenal a huge boost by revealing he is fit enough to play against Manchester United this weekend following an injury scare over the international break.
Sanchez overcame a knock in training last week while on international duty with Chile but the 27-year-old returned to action in their World Cup qualifier with Uruguay on Tuesday evening.
The 27-year-old marked his return to action with an excellent performance, scoring twice to help his side to a vital 3-1 win.
Arsene Wenger had been very concerned that Sanchez’s injury problem could affect his availability for this weekend’s huge match with Manchester United in the Premier League.
But Sanchez has now moved to alleviate his manager’s fears by confirming he is absolutely fine to play against the Red Devils on Saturday.
Sanchez revealed he was returning to Arsenal on Wednesday, telling Latercera: “I travel to London today. I will train Friday and travel the same Friday to Manchester to play Saturday at noon.
“There is no problem with me playing.”
The attacker’s availability could be crucial to Arsenal getting a win this weekend with Sanchez already scoring six goals in the top flight this season.
