Two goals from Arsenal‘s Alexis Sanchez secured Chile an impressive 3-1 comeback victory against Uruguay in their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday evening.
Sanchez had been a major injury concern for Chile having missed their previous contest with Colombia, after sustaining a knock in training.
Nevertheless, Chile insisted that Sanchez was fit and ready to play after his setback and indeed the 27-year-old started the contest on Tuesday evening.
However, Chile found themselves a goal behind at home when Edinson Cavani slotted home after being brilliantly played in by Luis Suarez.
It seemed Uruguay would go in at half-time in the lead but Eduardo Vargas headed home to put Chile level before the break.
Then in the second half, Sanchez showed Arsenal fans that he was fine for this weekend’s match with Manchester United with the forward expertly scoring after the hour mark.
