Alexis Sanchez‘s goal for Arsenal in their draw with Manchester City on Sunday means the winger now has six goals in his last seven Premier League matches.
Sanchez netted the Gunners’ second at the Etihad Stadium this weekend, combining with Olivier Giroud to bring the North London side level and help them to leave the North-East with a point.
It’s a result that all but sees Arsenal secure their place in the Champions League next season as the Gunners need to pick up just one point from their final game against Aston Villa.
The finish from the Chilean was his 13th of the season in the top flight and also marked the sixth goal in the last seven games in the league for Sanchez.
The 27-year-old didn’t net in the win over Norwich last week or the draw with Sunderland but two goals against West Brom and one apiece in the three games prior, versus Crystal Palace, West Ham and Watford, secure a hot run for the forward.
An injury spell and a barren run meant that Sanchez went on a run of 19 top- flight matches without a goal this season, although eight of those games were with the No.17 on the sidelines injured.
He broke that poor run with a finish against Tottenham in March and it now appears Sanchez is ending the campaign strongly.
