Bayern Munich have held talks with Alexis Sanchez’s agent as they continue to lay the groundwork ahead of a summer move, according to the Mirror.
Bayern chiefs were in attendance at the FA Cup semi-final recently and following their Champions League exit at the quarter- final stage, the Bavarians’ have made Sanchez their No.1 summer transfer target.
Chile star Sanchez has just 12 months left on his contract at the Emirates, and is set to be one of Europe’s most in-demand stars this summer, as he continues to stall over a new deal.
Arsene Wenger has ruled out selling to a Premier League rival, but not a foreign club.
The German champions have spoken to Fernando Felicevich, Sanchez’s agent, who also represents his compatriot and current Bayern star Arturo Vidal.
Felicevich and Bayern officials have an up-and-down past, with the agent having used Bayern’s interest to earn Vidal a more lucrative deal at Juventus in 2011.
Bayern were highly critical of Felicevich’s tactics at the time, and club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was particularly hostile, stating “I would rather not have such players at Bayern Munich.”
But Die Roten moved once more for Vidal in 2015, again dealing with Felicevich and this time landing the midfielder.
Bayern have now entered negotiations with Felicevich once more, as they look to take Sanchez to Bavaria. SportBild reports ex- Gunner Serge Gnabry is also being eyed as a back up option.
Die Roten are running the rule over attacking players who can help boost their frontline this summer, with club chiefs worried it has become too reliant on Robert Lewandowski, and Thomas Muller’s struggles under Carlo Ancelotti.
Additionally, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are getting older, while Brazilian Douglas Costa is looking to move on in his quest for regular first-team football.
