Alisson warns Liverpool over defensive record

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson says his team must stop conceding “stupid goals” if they are to achieve their aims this season. The Reds have made an excellent start to the new season and are unbeaten in the Premier League after 11 games.
They are also six points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City, after sensationally overcoming Aston Villa on Saturday with an injury-time winner.
However, defensively they have not been as sound as they were last season with just two clean sheets in the league.
In the Champions League, their record has been even worse, having conceded six goals in three games.
In their second match of the group stage, they let a 3-0 lead slip to Red Bull Salzburg who stormed back to make the score 3-3, before Mo Salah tapped in a winner to end a very nervy night.
Now, the Brazilian, who has spent most of the season so far on the sidelines due to picking up an injury in their opening day 4-1 win against Norwich, has urged his defensive team-mates to concentrate more and not allow teams any chances. “It always annoys me when we concede stupid goals. Sorry about the word, but when we concede in a stupid way, this annoys me and annoys my team-mates also,” he said. “When we enter the pitch we always have a common goal: that is win the game and keep a clean sheet. When you keep a clean sheet you are closer to the victory, at least you have a draw. We can work better on that aspect.”
Liverpool host Genk at Anfield on Tuesday evening in their fourth Champions League group match of the season, looking to try and leapfrog Napoli to the top of Group E.
Punters can also use their free bet to back Liverpool for consecutive Champions League triumphs at 11/2.
