Massimiliano Allegri’s former manager Giovanni Galeone has backed the Juventus head coach to thrive at Arsenal should he replace Arsene Wenger.
The Frenchman’s long tenure at the Emirates Stadium is under threat with protests from fans against the tabled two-year contract extension intensifying in recent weeks.
A 10-2 aggregate humbling at the hands of Bayern Munich prompted questions from prominent former players and Arsenal’s last two home games have seen hundreds of fan march against the manager.
Galeone, who managed Allegri during their time together at Pescara, has advised the three-time Serie A-winning coach to call time on his spell in Turin and move to England.
“I do not know if his cycle with Juventus is over but I told him: ‘After winning so much, it’s time so say enough!'” Galeone told II Messaggero.
“It’s not easy to leave Juventus but I hope he will go abroad.I think he’d do better in England than in Spain.
“[Arsenal are] a historic club. It will depend on Wenger’s decision. Massimiliano could build an exciting, fun team keeping with tradition there.
“Arsenal have players that could adapt to his style. It could be [a good fit].”
