With two goals in their 2-0 victory at Old Trafford, the 22-year-old was United’s best player. It was their first Europa League victory of the season and their first European tournament victory in 380 days.

Shortly after scoring the game’s second goal, Amad collapsed, and Mason Mount took his place for the remaining few minutes as a precaution.

Ruud van Nistelrooy downplayed the importance of the Ivorian front’s withdrawal following the victory against PAOK, reports Manchester World.

He will aim to have the forward ready when he takes over the team for the last time on an interim basis this weekend against Leicester.

“My ankle hurt a little bit in the second half, but it wasn’t too bad,” Amad said to reporters.

The young player will be evaluated before a final decision is made on his eligibility to play against Leicester in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, interim head coach Van Nistelrooy stated after the game.

Amad Diallo, who had everything in the second goal, struggled to get the ball away from the defender before pushing through to take the shot and having the skill to bend it around the goalie.”
