However, they have had difficulty persuading the player, who appears to be hesitant about falling down into the English second division.

According to Sky Deutschland, Amiri has made his decision and the answer for Leeds is no.

The Whites have been told of Amiri’s choice and that he does not wish to travel to Elland Road.
Instead, Amiri has his sights set on a move to French giants Marseille, who are in talks with Leverkusen to strike a deal.

The German club wants roughly €6 million for the midfielder, which Leeds is willing to pay.

Marseille however think that overvalues a player with just a year left on his contract and want to pay a smaller sum.

Leeds United have been rejected as an option by Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri.

Leeds are now set to move in and table a bid to take him to Elland Road before next week’s transfer window.

It has been claimed that Leeds are prepared to offer as much as £15m to snare the forward away from Swansea.
