Amorim Claims Winning Europa League Could Make Things Different For Man United

Ruben Amorim has reportedly admitted that Manchester United’s progress under him will be much quicker if they end up winning the UEFA Europa League this season.

After their lowest Premier League season ever, with Amorim’s team now in 13th place, the Europa League is United’s last hope to win a trophy this campaign.

For United, winning the Europa League is worth almost £100 million. They would be eligible to compete in the Champions League, have more money to spend in summer, and be able to lure in players of higher level.

In light to this, The Mirror stated that Amorim acknowledged that United’s entire season depends on winning the Europa League and the benefits that would follow ahead of their quarterfinal first leg matchup against Lyon on Thursday.

“It’s really important in all aspects,” said Amorim. “The first one is to win a title, a European title. Winning something like that will be massive for us, for our confidence.

“Then the future, to play in the Champions League next season for our club it will be completely different – the environment, the way we are going to face the summer, the budget for the summer – everything is connected with this competition.”

The Red Devils are undefeated in the Europa League, winning six games and drawing four, despite their poor performance in the Premier League this season, where they have lost a record 13 games.
