Manchester United goalkeeper, Andre Onana is reportedly not sure yet if he is going to return to the Red Devils starting line-up in their crunch UEFA Europa League clash against Lyon on Thursday.
After Onana’s two howlers in United’s 2-2 first-leg tie away to Lyon, manager Ruben Amorim benched the goalie for Sunday’s 4-1 loss at Newcastle.
Following his disastrous performance in Lyon, Amorim decided to let Onana “rest and disconnect” in the hopes that he would return for the second leg.
However, according to The Mirror, Amorim has not yet informed the Cameroon international if he would return to the starting lineup for Thursday’s match, which United must win if they are to turn around a disastrous season.

That is even though Altay Bayindir, Onana’s replacement, conceded four goals on his Premier League debut and gave Newcastle their fourth goal with a clumsy attempt at a pass out from the back.
According to those close to Onana, the weekend’s enforced break, which ended his streak of playing 69 straight Premier League games for United, has been beneficial to him.
Before he started training again prior to the upcoming match that will eventually decide United’s season, the 29-year-old was able to rest and recuperate, physically and mentally.
After being at fault for both of Lyon’s goals last week, Amorim gave Onana a vote of confidence right after the game, but he chose to allow him some time to gather himself.
In addition to his challenges on the field, Onana has been dealing with off-field issues. Last week, his wife was robbed on the street, leaving the family in need of round-the-clock security.
