Amorim Makes Excuse For Angry Garnacho Tunnel Dash Amid ‘Rashford Similarity’

Amorim Makes Excuse For Angry Garnacho Tunnel Dash Amid ‘Rashford Similarity’

Ruben Amorim vowed he will talk to Alejandro Garnacho after the Manchester United winger went right down the tunnel following his substitution against Ipswich Town as he spoke out about the “Marcus Rashford connection.”

In the Red Devils’ 3-2 victory over the Tractor Boys, Garnacho was substituted towards the end of the first half after Patrick Dorgu was sent off for a horrific challenge on Omari Hutchinson. The winger was not happy about the decision.

He posted a photo of himself leaving the pitch on his Instagram story after demonstrating his anger by marching directly down the tunnel to the dressing room instead of sitting on the bench.

According to Football 365, Amorim cited the falling out with Rashford that resulted in his January loan to Aston Villa as a weak justification for Garnacho’s response to being substituted.

“It was cold and wet, maybe?” Amorim said. “You are making a connection with Rashford, right? I know, I know.

“What I’m saying is I’m going to obviously talk with Garnacho about that. So I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”

Due to their lack of training effort, Garnacho and Rashford were left out of the team for the December victory against Manchester City. However, the Argentina international was added back for the subsequent trip to Tottenham.

At Old Trafford, United displayed some much-needed tenacity by rallying twice against relegation-threatened Ipswich to earn a vital three points that moved them up to 14th position in the Premier League, ahead of Everton.
