Ancelotti: Camavinga And Tchouameni Can Perform Much Better

Following their performance against recently promoted Almeria on Sunday, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that youthful midfielders Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga can perform “much better.”

The Blancos eventually won 2-1, but not before they suffered several other unsettling incidents and fell behind early.

Following his team’s victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Super Cup, Ancelotti made alterations to the midfield, starting both Tchouameni and Camavinga with Toni Kroos.

While Tchouameni played for 59 minutes, Camavinga was replaced at halftime with Madrid losing.

What Did Ancelotti Say?

“The young players did not play as they know how to do. I know, I see them every day in training, they are not used to playing like this,” Ancelotti said at the post-game interview.

“They can do much better. Camavinga, I took him out at the break, not because he wasn’t playing well, only because with his yellow card, it didn’t make sense to take a risk.”

How Did The Match Progress?

Madrid eventually overcame their opponents’ stubbornness to earn all three points, despite Tchouameni and Camavinga not performing to their potential.

Madrid will look to make it two wins in a row when they face Celta Vigo on Saturday.
