Bayern Munich‘s comprehensive win over Rostov on Tuesday evening means that Carlo Ancelotti has become the first manager to guide seven different teams to victories in the Champions League’s modern format.
Bayern ran out 5-0 winners against the Russian side yesterday thanks to a brace from Joshua Kimmich and finishes from Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski and Juan Bernat.
The win gets the Bavarians’ quest for their first Champions League trophy since 2013 off to an impressive start and also saw the club secure their 13th consecutive home win in the tournament.

That wasn’t the only record that was set at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday though as the victory saw Carlo Ancelotti secure a win with his seventh different side in the Champions League.
And according to Opta Ancelotti is the first manager to achieve that feat in the competition’s modern set-up.
The Italian coach adds Bayern Munich to his list of sides managed in the European competition, which also includes Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid.
