Andy Robertson Reveals Darwin Nunez Anger In Dressing Room

At halftime of Liverpool’s victory over Ajax, Andy Robertson has detailed what transpired with Darwin Nunez after his easy miss.

Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Harvey Elliott each scored once as the Reds defeated the Eredivisie powerhouse 3-0 in their Champions League Group A match. As a result, Liverpool have qualified for the competition’s round of 16 with one game remaining.

Just a few minutes into the second half, Nunez found the back of the net from a Robertson corner.

However, the Uruguayan squandered a pretty simple opportunity to give Liverpool a 2-0 lead just before halftime, and Robertson has described how the striker reacted in the locker room.

How Did Nunez React?

“We had control. Darwin came in at half-time really angry at himself for missing that chance,” Robertson told BT Sport.

“I was sitting next to him in the changing room, I don’t know if he understood what I said but I said I’ll put a cross in and you will score no problem. Maybe I need to say that more often.

“When we got the second goal obviously a two-goal cushion is dangerous but it’s also nice, and we followed that up with a lovely goal from Harvey.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side will now face Napoli in their final Group A fixture at Anfield next Tuesday.

Liverpool will need to win by a four-goal scoreline in order to finish top spot to overcome the 4-1 defeat they were handed in Naples in September.
