Ange Postecoglou ,Since Gareth Southgate’s decision to retire as England manager on Tuesday, numerous names have been connected with the vacant Three Lions role. Graham Potter was installed as the early frontrunner, with Eddie Howe, Mauricio Pochettino, Jurgen Klopp, Lee Carsley, and even Pep Guardiola mooted as potential candidates.
Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham’s head coach, was among the names mentioned on Wednesday afternoon. The Australian has been in England for only one season, guiding Spurs to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League last season.

His offensive style of game drew attention, and the Telegraph reports that he meets the requirements for the manager the FA is looking for when picking Southgate’s replacement.
Spurs played a pre-season friendly against Hearts in Scotland on Wednesday evening, and Postecoglou’s team won convincingly 5-1. It provided an immediate opportunity for the media to question Postecoglou about his links to the England job. And, in true Postecoglou manner, he batted it away beautifully, sending a strong message to Tottenham fans who may be concerned about his departure.
Postecoglou said: “Mate I was having a nap this afternoon so I’ve got no idea! I’m Tottenham manager and I’m determined to bring success to this club, as I have at every other club I’ve been at. That’s where my focus is totally.
“We haven’t achieved anything yet. So until we achieve something my work is not done.”
And Postecoglou will take any additional links in stride, implying that he will be put up with 99 other names to take over for England.
