Spain’s Nations League title celebrations on June 19 were marred by some sections of angry Real Madrid fans, who taunted and jeered Barcelona midfielder, Gavi.
La Roja clinched a historic final victory a day earlier, defeating Croatia via post-match penalties following a stalemate in regulation play and extra time.
According to Football Espana, the conquerors were greeted with a red carpet upon their return to Spain, with the team being hosted at Real Madrid’s basketball club’s home arena, the WiZink Arena.
When La Blaugrana’s Gavi was given the microphone to speak at the happy moment, he was met with jeers and angry yells from Los Blancos fans in the stands.

Gavi became instrumental in Spain earning its first international trophy in nearly a decade, since La Roja had not won a major trophy since winning the Euro title in 2012.
Gavi responds to Madrid transfers?
Meanwhile, Gavi has stated that he is unconcerned about Real Madrid’s transfer efforts following the signing of English midfielder Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, according to Goal.
Instead, the 18-year-old midfielder reaffirmed that Barcelona will ‘fight to the death’ to retain the La Liga title that they won for the first time in three years last season.
Last season, the Catalan giants finished ten points ahead of Real Madrid in the Spanish league rankings, with Xavi winning his first league title since returning to the club as head coach.
La Liga had initially not given Barca the greenlight to register the 18-year-old in its first team after he penned a new contract with them.
The Spanish league body did not clear the deal because Barcelona were in excess of their spending limit, prompting a battle in the court.
