A second loss against Usyk would be his third in five fights, which would put him at the back of the line for another shot at the world title.
When asked if he would give up if the unbeaten Ukrainian defeated him once more, he was certain that he would continue.
The two-time world heavyweight champion declared, “I’m not thinking about retirement.
“I’ve got one of the biggest fights of my life coming up and if you were thinking about retiring, it would be a massive doubt in your mind.
“People will always ask questions. Me, personally, I still want to continue. I love it.”
How Does AJ Feel About The Upcoming Match?
The 32-year-old Joshua thinks there is no shame in losing to top competitors.
Furthermore, he expressed delight that Saturday will mark his 12th straight world title battle dating back to 2016.
“This is my 12th consecutive world title fight and because this is world level, you’re up against world-level quality opponents,” AJ stated.
“This fight is my third against an Olympic gold medalist.
“I’m competing with some of the world’s best pound-for-pound fighters. If I was losing to some has-been, then, yes.
“But it’s crazy to talk about retiring when I lost to one of the best fighters in the world. What sort of nonsense is that?
“I respect people’s opinions, but I don’t want to retire.”
What Has Usyk Said About The Match?
Joshua has been warned by Usyk that he will suffer additional pain on Saturday.
According to Uysk, their rematch for the world heavyweight championship will be a continuation of their first bout.
This took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 11 months ago and Uysk outboxed and outthought Joshua.
The world heavyweight champion, who came close to stopping Joshua in the 12th round of the fight, thinks he would continue where he left off.
“We learnt about each other in the first fight,” the unbeaten Ukrainian said. “He learnt about me and I learnt about him.
“I don’t think it’s going to be a new bout. The last bout will be continued, round 13, round 14, round 15, however long the fight will last.
“We have had enough time to study each other and on Saturday night, it will be a great, great fight.”
