Antonio Conte has overhauled Chelsea‘s nutritional regime by banning unhealthy snacks from the training complex.
The Italian tactician has identified his players’ diets as an important aspect of his new fitness regime and has made some amendments to the staff canteen.
According to The Times, tomato ketchup and brown sauce will no longer be made available to Chelsea players, while fizzy drinks are also banned from the training ground.
The new manager will also limit the consumption of pizza by banning the traditional post-match treat from the dressing room.
The new ruling will look to benefit the player’s match-day fitness as well as keep them energised for the extensive training schedule.
The 47-year-old is renowned for his relentless sessions which have seemingly already taken their toll, with players returning from their pre-season tour notably lighter.
The players have become use to double and triple sessions this summer in order to be as ready as possible for their first Premier League fixture against West Ham on Monday.
Chelsea suffered a difficult campaign last year and Conte believes his new side were unnecessarily bloated under his predecessors.
Conte will also change the brunch-like pre-match meal, replacing it with a simpler option of chicken and salad and has also replaced vinegar with a more continental balsamic vinegar and olive oil alternative.
