Who Else Has Worn Real Madrid’s No. 22 Shirt?
Rudiger took over Isco’s jersey when the four-time Champions League winner left as a free agent this summer.
Angel Di Maria, the Argentine attacker who starred in Spain between 2010 and 2015, also wore the shirt.
In 2009-10, World Cup winner Xabi Alonso wore the number 22, while in the late 1990s, former France international Christian Karembeu wore the number 22 during a productive spell in Madrid.
What Value Will Rudiger Bring To Real Madrid?
“Madrid have very good players, particularly in my position,” the German said, “but I feel safe and I’m going to add competitiveness because that is very good for a team.” It’s a great challenge.
“I can promise that I will give it my all. I want to win all the titles we can. Hala Madrid and nothing more.”
