Argentina Goalie Emi Martinez Pleased To Reunite With Aston Villa New Signee

Emi Martinez might have a pleasing reunion with recent £50 million signee in Aston Villa.

Following an agreement on a cost between Villa and Everton for the 22-year-old, Amadou Onana has signed a five-year deal.

After spending £35 million to join the Toffees two years ago from Lille, Onana played for two years in a struggling squad.

Villa manager Unai Emery thinks he will bolster his team as they are ready to compete in the Champions League for the first time, having represented his nation at Euro 2024.

After their altercation at Goodison last season, Onana has already made an impression on the ferocious Martinez, one of his new teammates.

Onana lunged in on Martinez, striking him in the chest with a sliding tackle in what appeared to be a sincere attempt to grab the ball after Villa botched their attempt to play out from the back.

Martinez was not amused when Onana, who wasn’t scheduled for the challenge, attempted to grab him by the arm.

After six months together, the two are now teammates as Villa looks to improve on their strong fourth-place result from the previous season.

For the midfield player, competing in Europe’s premier club championship was a big lure, reports Mirror.

“The team will be playing in the Champions League after playing very attractive football with lots of goals last season,” he stated.

It’s thrilling for me to be participating in the Champions League once more.

We also have one of the top managers in the industry, and I believe he can help me step up my game.
