Arne Slot Admits The ‘One Time’ He Was Emotional Following Liverpool’s Premier League Title Win

After receiving a hero’s welcome from fans, Arne Slot believed it was ‘impossible’ for Liverpool to win the Premier League title.

Slot led the Reds to the English championship in his first season as manager. It was secured with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Supporters rushed to Anfield hours before kickoff, with many lining the streets to greet the team’s coach. Liverpool merely needed to draw the game to win their 20th title and equal Manchester United. Reported By Liverpool World.

Things did not go to plan in the early stages when Spurs took the lead via Dominic Solanke. However, the home team quickly regained control of the game with Luis Diaz’s equaliser, before goals from Alexis MacAllister and Cody Gakpo put the Reds in front at the break. Mo Salah scored after the break before Destiny Udogie made an own goal.

There were euphoric celebrations at the final whistle and into the night. And Slot knew there was no way silverware would not be added to the trophy cabinet after witnessing his team’s incredible reaction.

What Slot said:

Slot stated at his post-match press conference: “Very, very happy, of course, but also a little surreal because you work so hard for this moment to happen, and when it does, it takes some time for you to truly feel it.” But the supporters were so delighted that it didn’t take long for us, or me, to realize what we’d accomplished together this season.

“The only time I was moved today was when we got at the stadium to realize what it meant for the supporters and these folks. It felt very great to have a chance at winning, but it also felt like, ‘We still have to do it.’

“But I think everybody who was inside that bus felt that if the fans are with us, like they are, then it’s impossible for us to lose this game of football. During and during the game, it was wonderful how supportive the spectators were and how our players performed. It’s an honor to be a part of this day.
