Arne Slot has revealed what delighted him most about Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds overcame a 1-0 aggregate deficit to reach the League Cup final on Thursday night.
Liverpool dominated Ange Postecoglou’s side, winning emphatically with to goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Virgil van Dijk. Spurs had 64% possession but did not manage to get a shot on target.
Slot was most impressed with his team’s work ethic and ability to stop a normally formidable Tottenham attack at the other end.

“Yes, extremely impressive. “I don’t think it’s strange that Tottenham is conceding goals because they have so many injuries,” he explained. “That is probably the primary reason they are conceding goals.
“But they are always capable of scoring and creating. And the fact that we have so much possession and it takes them 80 minutes to get a shot on goal says nothing about Tottenham. Reported By Echo Sport.
“It should tell you a lot about how we work without the ball. I believe that is what stuck out for me when playing against a squad that is so strong at creating opportunities. In the end, allowing only one shot is a terrific accomplishment.
