The Reds will play Newcastle United at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final as they attempt to successfully defend the cup.
Last year at Wembley, Virgil van Dijk headed home late into extra time as an injury-plagued Liverpool team overcame the odds to give Jurgen Klopp his last trophy as Reds manager.
Liverpool’s standout right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fitness is in doubt going into the final.
After an uncomfortable fall during Tuesday night’s Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain, the defender was substituted out in the second half.
A new statement regarding the player’s fitness has been issued by Slot, although no diagnosis has been given as of yet.
Slot was asked in an exclusive interview on Liverpool’s club website how Newcastle United’s injury and suspension setbacks affected final preparations, reports Liverpool World.
Slot said: “So, yes, I think Eddie would have loved to play Anthony Gordon, but let’s wait and see how Trent Alexander-Arnold is on Sunday.
And if he’s not available, then I would have loved to play Conor [Bradley], who is certainly not available”
