Arne Slot claims to have discussed Real Madrid’s interest in the full-back with Trent Alexander-Arnold, but he is still committed to honing his skills.

On New Year’s Eve, Liverpool turned down a January transfer request from Real Madrid, who wanted to continue forward with their pursuit of the England international because of Dani Carvajal’s chronic injury.
The Reds stated that they are still hopeful of reaching a new agreement with the team’s vice-captain and have no plans to move Alexander-Arnold this month.
Slot said, “I think Trent can still improve,” when asked about Alexander-Arnold’s performance on Friday. This season, I’ve already noticed some progress. There isn’t much space for progress because these guys are at the top of the globe.
“Defensively Trent has made a step up this season. Outstanding in some games but up and down in some too, so it’s about consistency for top players. That is where the biggest improvement can come.”
“I talk to every player once in a while,” he said when asked if he had discussed Real with Alexander-Arnold. Trent is no different. I had a conversation with him.
The Reds will now lose the player for free in the summer when his contract with his childhood club expires, but Real is now thinking of making another bid and are ready to spend about £20.7 million for him, reports Mirror.
