Athletic’s Nico Williams has been linked with Arsenal, Aston Villa and a few other clubs in recent months.
Before the winger agreed to a new contract in December of last year, Aston Villa was rumored to have shown interest in him. They and the Gunners are still being pushed forward as candidates.

Athletic have already agreed a deal with Braga for Álvaro Djaló to arrive in the summer, and their director, Mikel González, has insisted this operation isn’t linked to Williams’ possible exit.
ED relay that and then state the La Liga side have a desire to retain Williams, amid interest from Arsenal and others.
The Spain international has extended his contract until 2027 and with that, the report says his clause has been raised from €50m to €55m. It’s claimed his current asking price wouldn’t stop the Premier League sides.
To sum it up, Athletic want to retain the star but could risk losing him to Arsenal, Aston Villa or another English club due to the €55m clause.
Williams has scored six goals and registered 12 assists from 28 games this season.
