The striker has shined for the Serie A team this season, scoring 14 goals and contributing four assists from 25 outings.

We reported on Italian reports on November 27th that Arsenal had dispatched a scout to observe the 25-year-old in action against Young Boys in the Champions League.

The Gunners are currently pursuing Retegui with Aston Villa, reports Sport Witness.

La Repubblica, which TuttoMercatoWeb relays, claims that Arsenal and the Villans are interested in the forward.

According to the report, the Premier League team and the north London club are “serious” about the Argentina-born Italy international and are “ready to offer” €55 million to sign him.

It’s unclear if Aston Villa and Arsenal will make offers for Retegui this window or the next summer.

Considering that La Dea is at the top of the table and tied with Napoli in second place, they are unlikely to allow him to depart in January.

Retegui has been out since suffering a hamstring injury against Empoli on December 22.

After Atalanta striker and Italy colleague Gianluca Scamacca suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Retegui joined fellow Serie A team Atalanta on August 8, 2024, in a reported €28 million transfer.
