Arsenal are reportedly now on the verge to signing Bukayo Saka to a new long-term contract.
The 21-year-old has been a crucial player for Arsenal in the early stages of the season, appearing seven times in all competitions and producing one goal and two assists.
Saka’s current contract at the Emirates Stadium is set to end in the summer of 2024, but there has been much speculation about a new contract in recent months.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stated recently that he is “very confident” the England international will sign an extension soon.
“I’m very confident that we as a club, Bukayo, his family, his agent, everybody, we are very much aligned with what we want to achieve,” Arteta told reporters last month. “Now it’s about putting it on a piece of paper.
“I would like that to get done because I don’t want the player or anybody to be distracted while we are in the middle of the season, but those things take time.”
Saka, who came through Arsenal’s youth system, later stated that he will soon sign a new and improved contract in North London.
“Yes, I share his (Arteta’s) confidence. He knows when to speak to me, it’s not too much but it’s not too little and the different bits of advice he gives me are special and it makes such a difference.
Saka made his first-team Arsenal debut in 2018, and since then, he has played 138 times for the squad across all competitions, scoring 24 goals and dishing out 31 assists.
“I’m really at home here. I can truly feel the support of my coaches, teammates, and supporters. Here, I feel truly loved.”
Will Saka Sign A New Contract At Arsenal?
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, the deal is reportedly “very close to being agreed,” with Arsenal likely to make an announcement soon.
“It seems all the noises coming out of Arsenal – from their camp as well as Saka’s camp – is that this deal is very close to being agreed, which will be a huge boost to everybody connected to the club,” O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT.

Saka earned his first-team debut for Arsenal in 2018, and he has already played 138 times for the club in all competitions, contributing 24 goals and 31 assists.
The England international appeared 43 times for the Gunners in all competitions in 2021-22, scoring 12 goals and assisting seven times.
Arteta’s team was scheduled to play PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League on Thursday, but the game was cancelled owing to the issues surrounding Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
However, the Premier League match against Brentford on Sunday has been approved.
