Bologna technical director Giovanni Sartori has reportedly given Chelsea and Arsenal transfer boost following his claim that the club will consider selling Riccardo Calafiori if the right offer comes in.
One of the few bright spots for Italy at Euro 2024 was the central defender, who has drawn interest from two London clubs. The 22-year-old has been linked to several elite clubs in Europe, but a transfer within Italy seems unlikely.
This summer, Chelsea have already signed Tosin Adarabioyo, who left Fulham after his contract expired, to fill the centre back position.
The Blues may now be able to spend more freely because the deadline for the Profit & Sustainability Rules on Sunday has passed.
Arsenal have also been linked with the Italy international as Mikel Arteta is looking for a credible back-up option for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.
With three years remaining on his contract, Bologna chief Sartori told reporters on Monday that the Club hope to hang onto Calafiori. However according to Football London, he also acknowledged that leaving is a possibility, even though a move to Juventus is doubtful.

“We took him [Calafiori] 12 months ago, so we’ll see what happens in the market, but in our heads there is the will to keep him,” said Sartori.
“We will try to keep him, but if important offers arrive, we will have to take them into consideration. I don’t think he will go to Juventus, he will probably go to a different market.”
