Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar has revealed he cannot say how he feels about the Gunners missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City.
Despite keeping up with Pep Guardiola’s team the entire 2023–24 campaign, the north-London outfit lost the title race by only two points following an exciting final day.
Since Mikel Arteta insisted that his team had “done everything right,” many, including Edu, had assumed that’s what they had done in the hope to win the title.
What Did Edu Say About Arsenal Missing Out On The EPL Title?
Speaking to Estadao as cited by Daily Mail, Edu said: “There are things that unfortunately I cannot say what I feel. It’s a strange feeling, very strange!
“Because we end the season with the feeling that we’ve done everything right. From the signings and the goals to the renewals.
“Mikel did a great job and achieved the goals. We did everything we could, but it wasn’t enough. There’s frustration, but there’s also a positive feeling that the process was done well. The work was excellent.”
The outcome of 115 charges against the Manchester club, which they vehemently deny, regarding alleged financial rule violations is still pending.
As a result, many contend that there will always be a “asterisk” next to City’s recent victories. While others, like Ian Wright, contend that it is “unfair” for their victories to be so overshadowed while the 15-month wait for a resolution persists.
Edu took time to commend manager Guardiola for his efforts at City. Despite the continuous discussions about the team’s performance in the face of their 115 charges.

He said: “But all the credit in the world to Pep for the training and work he’s been doing since he started his career.
“I even joke with my son that I want to see if he’s really good at rugby. It’s a joke I make because he’s already won everything in football.”
